Azerbaijan's foreign minister tells the UN there is "de facto peace" with Armenia

From one speech at the UN the Azerbaijani outlet takes what has been achieved — "de facto peace" — while two Armenian-language outlets take what has not: the "removal of obstacles" to signing, and the "remaining obstacle". The Russian-language Armenian outlet puts the minister's words in quotation marks.

Jeyhun Bayramov addressed the 81st session of the UN General Assembly: peace between the two countries has been established de facto, and since the Washington summit the agenda has begun to yield concrete economic results, with Baku lifting transit restrictions unilaterally. In the same speech he said the "remaining obstacle" must be removed to make the process irreversible.

Russia's food safety watchdog says the ban on Armenian fish and dairy stays

Western Azerbaijan Community sets up group on Albanian heritage in Armenia

Azerbaijani outlets reported it as scholarly work: a group has been set up to study Albanian heritage. Armenian ones put the organisation's name in quotation marks with the word "so-called", and Aysor.am led with a remark by Narek Karapetyan, putting the word "peace" in quotation marks.

Armenia's chief of general staff meets US deputy war secretary

Lavrov: Russia will not pay for Armenia's preparation to join the EU

From one speech in Yekaterinburg each outlet took a different sentence for its headline. RIA Novosti took the doubt and the refusal to pay, and in one of its three headlines the softer line: "Russia is not against the Armenian people’s choice". APA took only the money: "Russia does not intend to finance". Aravot took the sharpest: "the EU authorities will most likely deceive Armenia".

Speaking at the International Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg, Russia's foreign minister said he cannot see Armenia entering the EU ahead of countries that have queued as candidates for years, and that Moscow does not intend to fund that preparation out of the preferences Armenia receives in the EAEU.
