The Gyumri base: Moscow has had no request to withdraw, Pashinyan does not call it vital

What happened

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said no request had come from Armenia to withdraw the 102nd military base from Gyumri, and called the base an important element of the security architecture of Armenia and the South Caucasus. In the same days Nikol Pashinyan said he had never raised the question of withdrawal, but does not see the base as a vital necessity. A member of the Armenian parliament added that the authorities are ready to discuss both withdrawal and a continued presence.
